![]() Temperature gauge has always been about half, except twice.Don't think any parts have been replaced, as the only warranty fix I had done was a headlamp (or marker lamp - whichever it is that the whole fascia needs to be removed to replace).If it's in the suggested maintenance, it was done according to schedule at the dealership prior to the warranty running out. Coolant replaced completely? I can't honestly say, unfortunately.Is this from the crossover gaskets I have been reading about going bad and it's letting a bunch of trash into my system fouling out my parts? Any advice? I also started taking off hoses, crossbar, tank,etc and hoses have flakey looking black stuff and so does the coolant reservoir. ![]() Fixed all my oil leaks and thought I have fixed the cooling system when I replaced everything at once. But since I bought it the car is a quart and a half short between oil changes and my coolant also has to be refreshed. So being frustrated that I just put 3-4 thousands in repairs 2-3 yrs ago for the same problems to resurface already. Looks like it's coming from my water pump. Last week on an hour drive or so(after checking tires and all fluid lvls) my car ran hot and has been leaking coolant again. Since I have bought the car I have had to replace sensors, all my oil seals(front main/rear main etc), alternator, battery 3 times in 2 years, and also had the radiator/water pump/thermostat replaced 2 years ago. In warm areas of the country, top off with water until the leak is found, saving antifreeze for later after repairs are done. If you're in winter weather, you may have to top off with 50/50 antifreeze until the leak is found. A keen eye can find dried coolant from a leak or simply look over and under the engine area for signs. Unless you're familiar with working on cars, here is a list all coolant hoses (radiator, heater, water pump), clamps, radiator, water pump, coolant tank and cap. Even when a pressure test was performed, as you found out, losing coolant may not show up under pressure but you're still losing coolant somehow. If outside temps are below 40F a/c won't turn on. Mileage, last time coolant was replaced, maintenance done, parts replaced? Where does the temperature gauge needle sit? Does the engine overheat? Does the cooling fan run when it's needed? An easy way to know is turning on a/c - this turns on at least one cooling fan. Without any more info it's just guessing. It's odd for any repair shop not finding leaking coolant, whether or not a pressure test was done.
